As promised here are the instructions for the Japanese flower pattern this is first of all not my design. I am only providing written instructions and picture tutorial for this pattern. This design was first found by me at Attic 24 in the UK if you would like to look up more information please refer to  http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/2011/03/japanese-flower-scarf-ta-dah.html you can copy and paste this url into your web browser and it will take you right to her blog. Ready to start

You do not need to worry about a gauge for this project
I used a Boye size D or 3mm hook
Nine different colors are used these can be your choice. I used 9 Style craft colors which I purchased through Wool Warehouse in the UK they have a fine selection of yarns and brands as well as fare prices.

The pattern goes as follows

Abbreviation:
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
sp = space
dc = double crochet
sc = single crochet

Row 1: ch 4 and sl st to first ch to form a ring
Row 2: ch 4 counts as 1  dc and sp 1 the circle ( 1 dc sp 1 ) contiune until there are 12 dc and 12 sp 1 spaces. Join with a sl st to the third ch of the first ch 4 at the beginning.
Row 3: sl st into first ch 1 sp chain 5 counts as 1 first dc and ch 2 sp continue dc and ch 2 in each ch1 sp around and join with a sl st to the third ch in beginning chain. 12 dc 12 ch 2 sps.Fasten off and change color in next row.
Row 4: Now with the next color sl st into any ch 2 sp ch 4 and make 3 more dc in same sp ch 1 4dc in each ch 2 sp around. 48 dc 12 ch 2
Row 5: join with a sl st to the top of the ch 3 at the beginning. sc in the ch1 sp then sc in the back loop of the first dc ch 5 skip 2dc and sc in the back loop of the 4th dc sc in the ch 1 sp sc in the back loop in the first dc chain 5. do this 12 times. Fasten off. There is an example of what the flower should look like at this point.

In the photo you will notice that there are 3 sc between the loops.
Row 6: Change color Join with a sc in the middle sc  and dc in the ch loop continue until there are 8 more dc sl st in center sc make 9 dc in the next loop. Continue in this manner all the way around sl st in center of last center sc. Finished

This is my first time writing a pattern if there are any questioned please leave a comment
I will be checking back to see if there are any comments and answer your concerns and question.

Thank you Andrea Happy Crochet hands.
